It’s time for some Blue Dope.

Just when you were getting withdrawal symptoms thinking there was no release this week, Kind of Dope come to the rescue with their third offering.

Kind of Dope comes of age with their Jazzy break beat LoFi grooves. This one ups the ante on the first two releases that emerged in 2021 and adds a very rounded arrangement to their obvious sonic sensibilities. Adding vibraphone to the arrangers palate along with the ubiquitous trumpet the sound becomes even more 3D than the first outings. It also embraces a retro 70s melodic vibe of alternating minor and major jazzy chords and an equally rare groove hip hop beat that seems snatched out of the jaws of the Tuesday night sessions at the Wag club. Unambiguously retro but with a fat beat the sound assumes a timeless and modern iteration of the rare groove genre brought right up to date. Kind of Dope in a Blue mood but rocking it.
