Strictly speaking this should be an Homage à David Holmes who composed the music for a few Steven Soderbergh movies. One interesting fact is that Peter Pritchard ( composer of this ) was on the production team for The Essential Mix when David Holmes did his stint back in 1993. But that was a side job to Pete’s normal one of producing tracks for and running the famous Media Records UK label, they just produced the Essential mx in his studio. Anyway, this track assumes the sonic sensibilities of a Soderbergh soundtrack and thus the intended homage. Processed old beaten up Fender Rhodes electric Piano supported by a rolling loop evolves into western guitar arps and vocal samples ultimately leading to the cello lead solo. Moody and evocative.
