OLDr “ Party Like It’s 2022”
Originally conceived, recorded and trialled during the lockdown early in 2021, OLDr’s “Party Like It’s 2021″ was slipped out as a low down funky track in June 2021 when everyone was pretty unsure of how life was still going to pan out. It was Pete Pritchard and Lance Ellington working together for the first time in a long time and they had put together an album of tracks forged from old demos that never got released and some covers they found intriguing. This was the last track they recorded and felt right even if a little outside the rest of the material. Lance and Pete made their debut album together at Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis’ Flyte Tyme studios in Minneapolis way back in 1990. They had recorded a whole album worth of demos before being dropped by their label A&M and both Pete and Lance going their separate ways; Pete setting up the label Media Records UK and Lance continuing with his very successful singing career that continues to this day. Lance appeared on a couple of tracks released by Pete’s label but in general they followed their own paths. Lock down brought them back together again at a moment where they could focus on music in a way that had escaped them for a long time. More singles and an album are due in 2022. In the meantime here are the Dance mixes of Party Like Its 2022.
The Club Mixes of the down and funky track By Pete Pritchard and singer Lance Ellington under the moniker OLDr ( because they are), made during lock down dreaming of a time when it’s back to normal. Well, fat chance!! It’s still an anthem for those who want to party. Being released on Pete Pritchard’s ( Nukleuz, Media UK, Big In Ibiza) brand new label KooLr, which is dedicated mostly to down tempo groovy tracks and OLDr have an album in the works for 2022. This doesn’t mean there won’t be KooLr Dance of course.
